Did the timing change on the lights on 16?
Did the timing of the traffic lights change on 16? There's always traffic going towards Alewife in the morning, but its been unusually heavy even not at peak times. ex. the people making a left turn into Cambridge never used to back up the other lanes, but now they stretch almost to Broadway. Or is there some unusual construction downstream of all this?

But we take I95 in to work in the morning (away from the city) and traffic has been ridiculously obscene for no reason for the last few weeks.
I think it's everywhere...

I also noticed a good number of cars turning into the St. Savas/Matignon complex on the city line in the am, but parking near the church, not the high school.
Has St. Savas opened up a daycare or parochial school? Is that new?
It's actually surprising how little traffic Matignon seems to involve, car or pedestrian. I've never driven past a high school at 8:00 in the morning without there being 500 kids milling around.

I have no trouble crossing without pushing the button, and I wish more people would avoid pushing it if they don't need the extra crossing time, especially if they're going to cross before the walk phase anyway.

(for bob), no, if anything there's fewer people pushing the button.
