MIT museum (http://web.mit.edu/museum/) is a very interesting place! I take there all my friends who come visit us in Boston. I was there hundreds of times - still find it interesting :) Central sq.
Museum of Science (http://www.mos.org/) Science Park T stop (green line) or ten-minute walking distance from Charles MGH (red line)
Harvard University Art Museums (http://www.harvard.edu/museums/) (Sackler, Fogg, and Bush – not big but very nice). They have a day (once a week or a month) when enrtance is for free – call and ask about it. They work Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Harvard sq. red line
Also I took the tour over the Harvard campus – it was interesting too :)
You can order free tickets or coupons to some great pleces in Boston (MFA, Science museum, etc.) through public libraries.
