FOLKS -- On Sat 9/25 we're celebrating theMOVE's first fall with a near-ridiculous backyard BBQ (called theGRAZE).  It'll feature a wide range of amazing locally-grown + naturally-raised meat, plus a Top Chef veggie burger competition (visit theGRAZE to register), beer from Smuttynose Brewery, and a whole lot more!  It'll be a FANTASTIC time for all -- and all proceeds will go to support our powerful work connecting people with the sources of our food and to the systems that sustain us.  We hope to see you there!  (to be followed by an amazing open mic afterparty jam -- I can send details on that if you'd like)

[ ALSO -- a reminder that theMOVEcrew members gets GREAT benefits this month and beyond -- please consider joining! ]

Anyone want a crappy desk, free, delivered to your doorstep/porch?

I trash-picked this, used it for about 5 years, and now am done with it. From the curb it came and back to the curb it goes. But to throw it out I have to put it in my van and bring it home from my studio (where we don't have residential trash-service). So, since it will be in my van anyway, if you want it, and you live in Somerville, I'll drop it at your curb instead of mine.

It used to be really wobbly, so I added those 1x8s you see badly nailed into the underside of it. Now it's super stable, but you can't fit your legs under it. It might make a better work-table than desk. If you kneed bread or roll out pastry it might be a really good low-counter for things you have to put force into. But it's a really crappy desk.

I'll be maybe using it at a fair on Sunday, then putting it out with Monday's trash, so drop me a line before then if you want it.

New to the neighborhood, but a friendly neighbor clued us into the popularity of Live Journal in Davis.  It's pretty neat!  My boyfriend just bought a 2 family, and is looking to rent out 1 of those families.  He's very handy and has done a lot of fixing up over the past few weeks.  Unfortunately that left us in a sort of weird timeframe for adverstising a rental.  Here's the detailed listing on CL (with pictures) for this 2 BR which really is something special.  I've looked at many apartments in the area over the years, and if I had come across this one I'd have been thrilled. . .

Something not mentioned on CL - move in now and the rest of September is free.  1st and security due at lease signing.

Thanks for looking and pass it onto friends.
