Hello, this is (someone who is totally not Jackie Rosetti reposting this here) from the City of Somerville with snow emergency information for Saturday, December 14th. Based on current weather projections, the City will be declaring a snow emergency effective at 2 PM Saturday afternoon.

During snow emergencies, parking is allowed on the odd-numbered side of the street only (unless otherwise posted). Cars not moved from the even numbered side of the street by 6 PM on Saturday
evening may be subject to ticketing and towing. Residents unable to find a parking space on the odd-numbered side of the street may park in any municipal lot or in designated school parking lots. Please also note that the City’s Illuminations Tour has been postponed until Sunday, Dec 15.

A map of available parking lots, and additional snow emergency information is available atwww.somervillema.gov/snow. If you have any additional questions, please call 311 (617-666-3311 from outside the City).

I gotta go buy milk.

The city has announced that the trolley tour will NOT take place tonight, but is instead postponed until tomorrow night, Sunday, December 15. All times and tickets remain the same.

The bike tour is also postponed to Sunday at 5:50 pm.

For sale: two tickets to tomorrow’s rescheduled 5:45 PM Illuminations Trolley Tour (West Somerville route).

We bought them for today, and have other plans tomorrow, but hope that we can find someone else who can use these tickets.

We’re asking $20 for both tickets, and are happy to meet in Davis Square for the exchange.

If I've determined that removing a certain food residue (peanut butter from the walls of a jar, dried cheese from a paper to-go container, etc) is not something I am invested enough in being a good person to do... should I put it in the trash or recycling?

a cop just drove down the street with a loudspeaker saying to move cars off the even side of the street lest they be towed.

i had thought (and many years of watching the towing patterns seemed to bear this out) that even-side-only parking was only true for streets where odd-side parking was actually available.

anyone have an authoritative reference for this?

I heard that during the big snow storm last winter some of the Somerville emergency parking lots were requiring resident parking stickers to park. Can anyone speak to this? Is it official, or just a parking attendant abusing their authority? Which lots are most/least likely to do this?

I just broke the screen on my shiny new Nexus 5, and I'm embarrassingly heartbroken about it. I've never had to repair a smartphone before--any recommendations? I'm sorry if there's been prior discussion of the question--I browsed through the tags looking for anything that might be relevant, but nothing jumped out at me.
