Where to Go Swimming Map

I posted this last year, but thought it would be nice to do it again, since it was about 95 degrees today. I and a few other people have compiled this map of places you can go swimming in the Boston area: Boston Area Swimming. A lot of the places are easily reachable by T.

I tried to embed the map here below a cut (Thanks Ron) but apparently Livejournal isn't accepting these javascript or flash widgets. Too bad.

Borggaard Beach, Winchester

I've never been, but there seems to be a beach within a reasonable distance of the Winchester Center stop (and you can pick up the commuter rail in Porter). But it costs non-residents $30 for a summer pass to use the beach...

The commuter rail line in Porter Square doesn't go to Winchester.

Ugh. I just remembered this. The heat is getting to me! I usually ride either the Lowell or the Fitchburg lines to visit family, and I ride my bike to both, but my brain melted and I got confused...

Sigh.

Well, you can ride to West Medford and catch it there....but maybe I should triple check before I post again.

:)

Though if you're already on your bike and you've reached West Medford, you may as well keep riding to Sandy Beach.
