A friend's black Samsung Galaxy smartphone is lost as of around 1:45-2 pm today, March 1. My friend has posted this on Craigslist and I wanted to amplify by adding it here:

If anyone found a Samsung Galaxy phone out on the street near Highland and Central, I will happily pay a reward to get it back. Plus you get the warm fuzzy feeling of doing a good deed. But also, I'll pay a reward. No questions asked.

You can PM me, davisdenizen, with any info. With many thanks, dear Somerville neighbors!

I discovered yesterday during the blizzard that my wallet is not in my backpack. The last time I saw it was getting onto a 94 bus by the Medford U-haul.

It's a black leather tri-fold wallet with my license, T pass, Library card, First Aid and CPR certifications, and my Motorcycle Safety Foundation card.

If anyone should happen to find it, I can be contacted at my username at gmail. I'm job hunting and my unemployment just ran out and I have an interview tomorrow, and this has just added to my levels of panic.

Thank you!

A very friendly female cat has been hanging out on my front porch for a little while (near Lexington park on the bike path). She was difficult to photograph because she wouldn't sit still. She clearly loves people. Unfortunately I cannot let her in because I have a cat of my own who isn't interested in company. Send me a personal message if she is yours.

My friend Katie's cat Lukie went missing over the weekend, and still has not been found. Please help keep your eyes out for her and spread the word!

Lukie is a black, fluffy, female cat, who is quiet and does not meow. She went missing from Conwell Ave. in West Somerville on Saturday.

Please call or text Katie with any info: 617-461-4605

I found this beautiful wooden pendant on the ground near the Davis T tonight. Did anyone out there lose it? If so, I'd love to return it to its owner. Let me know if it is yours.

I swear, I was going to post before I saw the other cat posts!

One of my cats disappeared from our house on Glenwood Road (near Vernon Street) on Saturday night, after 7 or 7:30. She's a medium-to-smallish (9.25 pound) 6-year-old female, all black, no white markings at all, and was wearing a pink collar with red tag though it's a safety collar that may have pulled off. She does have a microchip.

UPDATE - my posters worked & she's home. But it's obvious she doesn't want to be here as she was on our street, just not coming home. The problem is she REALLY wants to be an only cat. She really is a sweetheart when she's comfortable with her situation. If you know anyone who might be interested let me know, and I'll take advantage of schmoozenkatte's advice 2 threads back.

This is a bit out of range of Davis, but cats can wander, and the last post in the [livejournal.com profile] somervillemass community was over a year ago.

Thursday night I found a cat on my doorstep in East Somerville, and brought her in. She's a small dilute tortie, clearly used to living with people, polite and sociable. I'd love to get her back to her humans, but really don't want to just let her out and trust she'll wander back home in the sort of weather we're having. Please let me know if you know this cat!

More details and photos on craigslist.

Is this your cat hanging out on our porch for the past two nights, or do you know someone missing him??? He is a healthy-looking, friendly, medium-to-large sized short-hair with light orange/buff tabby (striped) coloring and yellow eyes. Has a black collar but no tags. Well-fed, obviously has a home somewhere but he seems to think that he is lost or doesn't know his way back to it.

We found him loitering on our porch on Cameron Avenue at the West Somerville / North Cambridge line. He's been lingering since 9:00PM on Saturday 11/16.

Please call or email if you are missing him. We absolutely cannot keep him and will have to contact animal control if he is not claimed soon, as our land-lord has forbidden any more animals on the property.

EDIT: we found him, he snuck back into the basement when we weren't looking. All is OK.

If anyone sees a black cat sans collar wandering around Ball Sq, please contact me immediately (alioth at mit dot edu / 617-863-6273) -- our apt on Lowden Ave has just lost one.

The dog is on the bike path near Willow Avenue, against the fence that abuts the RCN property. He's skittish of strangers, so we don't want to chase him into traffic. He seems safe where he is, but if you know the owner, please alert him/her about the loose pooch. I've called Animal Control and 311, so they are aware.

One of these disappeared from my driveway, about a mile from Davis, a few days ago. If anyone hears a hint of what happened to it, I'd appreciate getting it back. It wasn't on the sidewalk and was behind a fence, but I imagine someone could have mistaken it for free stuff.

Last Friday night around 7:15 a man named Ed was riding up Holland Street towards Teele Square and he got doored right outside the Department of Traffic and Parking (oh, irony).  When I got to the scene he was being helped up by the driver and other passengers.  We got him to hobble to the curb but once his sock was pulled down there was a pretty bad gash on his right heel.  He may have been otherwise bruised and battered but he seemed relatively okay.

I called the police and had them dispatch an ambulance.  The folks already involved were taking care of him (including one doctor) physically and staying with him.  I offered to take his bike and helmet and keep them safe while he was going to the hospital and whatever else followed so he wouldn't have to worry about his stuff.  I gave him my contact information, but was in a rush and left once I saw the ambulance approaching.  I haven't heard from him and am getting a wee bit anxious.  What I should have done is get his phone number, but I didn't.

Does anyone know Ed? He's middle-aged, lives in West Medford, has a nice solid commuter ride. Probably now has stitches, too.

Alternatively: what's the best way to seek him out: should I just call Somerville police and see if they can contact him for me?

Hi folks!

This is a long shot, but as I only recently discovered this community, I thought I'd post here in just in case someone might be able to help.

Sometime during the first two weeks of June my boyfriend mistakenly left his favorite bag, a large brown leather satchel, in a Shaw's shopping cart somewhere in the triangle between between the Shaw's in Porter, Davis Square, and Ball Square. In this bag were several items very dear to him, including a book called The Alice B. Toklas Cookbook. He's an aspiring chef and had been taking notes in the cookbook. A small portable speaker of mine was also in the bag. He especially loves and misses the bag itself, too.

We trekked around the area for sometime trying to find the bag in the days after he lost it. Please reply to this post if you recognize these items. My boyfriend had given up hope, and it would be such a wonderful surprise for him to get his bag back. We will ask no questions and harbor no hard feelings, in the least; we'd just love to see his things again.

Thank you!!

:)

A beautiful bengal cat appeared very recently in my neighborhood near Davis. It seems unusual for such a fancy, fancy cat to be out without a collar. Has anyone heard of one missing?

About a half hour ago, I found a key ring on the steps of Responsible Grace church, 204 Elm Street. I walked into the unlocked church hoping to talk to the pastor or anyone else, but nobody was inside.

The ring has 5 keys, plus a medal with the logo of a non-US sports team. If you think this key ring belongs to you, please reply or send a private message with the name of that team.

(I've also left a phone message and an e-mail for Pastor Jeff)

ETA 7/2: The keys don't belong to Pastor Jeff, and I've gotten no reply to either this notice or the one I posted at Boston Craigslist. So I brought the key ring to the front desk at the Somerville police station in Union Square.

Found in Davis Square: a bicycle light.   Normally these found posts ask people to PM with identifying info to confirm the keys/phone/etc is actually theirs.   In this case, it is somewhat generic non customized product, but if you lost a bike light at least PM with the brand/model and any comments on where you think you might have lost it.

Bonus points to the first person to point out the irony of this posting vis a vis the other recent bicycle light posting.
