I was walking past Big Fish, Little Fish today, during the Snow Emergency That Was Not, and I looked in the window and saw...well. A free range mouse. Just running up the slatwall, and probably the happiest mouse in existence, with warmth and a nice wall with a big hole in it, and all those bags of feed and stuff just lying about.
I wonder if he goes in at night and taunts the feeder mice with his freedom.

Maybe I'm just a country bumpkin, but even if you're mad enough at the cops to yell at them, what sort of threat is "My parents are going to kill you"?

honeybee removal?

Ever since we moved into our apartment in mid-October, my roommate and I have been sharing space with a hive of honeybees. The hive appears to be at least partially outside the building (near our living room window), and in the fall we barely noticed them. Our landlords assured us that they'd deal with them in the winter, when the bees were hibernating, but they've been in no hurry to do so.
Ever since the cold weather hit, agitated bees have been making their way inside. It's not a healthy situation for anyone involved (humans or insects), as you might imagine. Our landlords have finally informed us that they intend to have the hive exterminated. We weren't sure about the legality of this, given the threatened status of honeybees in recent years, but apparently they've cleared it with the city.
My roommate and I are concerned, and are hoping to at least investigate alternative options - preferably, removal by a beekeeper. Can anyone recommend local keepers or services who we might be able to contact for information/price quotes? Thanks so much!

Looking for a 45 / 7" album frame

I have a 45 single / 7 inch album that I'd like to frame, and while full-sized vinyl frames are a dime a dozen, I'm having trouble finding one for the smaller size record. And the custom route seems to be awfully expensive for something like this.
Anyone know somewhere local to buy a 7 inch square frame, or a larger one that's matted down to 7 inches? Or do you HAVE one lying unused in your basement or something?
Edit: I posted on Freecycle as well and actually got a response from someone with a frame that might work. So I can't report back on whether any of these (great) suggestions worked out, but maybe they'll help someone else.
Or maybe I'll come back to the suggestions once I pick up the Freecycle option and find out it's the wrong size. heh.
