Hi all,

Here's a very fun and laid-back holiday bike ride. There's some singing, some biking, and a lot of eating and drinking - and it all raises funds for Horizons for Homeless Children (or you may donate a bike to Bikes Not Bombs). No need for any talent in the singing or biking - only enthusiasm is needed!

Warm regards,
Karin T

PS: Yes, it's the same day as the Jingle Bell Run - both are great events, so just choose if you'd rather sit on your butt or run :)

On Sunday, December 14th, bring family and friends to Arlington for the 18th Annual Ciclismo Classico Jingle Ride, a leisurely and festive bike parade to Boston and back. This 22-mile ride rolls through Harvard Square, the Esplanade, Boston Common, and Newbury Street – we stop and sing carols for passersby, and just parade along showing some creative holiday spirit.

There will be free hot mulled cider and freshly-brewed coffee and pastries thanks to our starting-point hosts at the Kickstand Café. We’ll also enjoy hot cocoa and cookies at Harvard Square, courtesy of the Harvard Square Business Association!

It’s a parade, not a race – so if you have a bicycle, we’d love your holiday spirit along for the ride!

New this year: Crowded garage? Bring a used adult or child-sized bike to donate to Bikes Not Bombs and ride for free! Bicycle donation guidelines are here.

The former Eleni of New York tailor shop storefront (259 Elm St, just west of Diesel Cafe) has a paper sign announcing Beyond Vape. I know nothing more.

DATE & TIME:

Thursday, December 4, 2014wrap-around-kris-hatch-square
5:00 pm-10:00 pm

LOCATION:
Davis Square Plaza, Davis Square, Somerville

WHAT’S HAPPENING:
Each year, the Nave Gallery hosts Wrap Around, a sale of handmade goods to benefit the Somerville Homeless Coalition.

This year, the Nave will be participating in Midnight Madness with a Wrap Around table right in the middle of Davis Square. Midnight Madness is the Square’s annual event where businesses in Davis Square extend their store hours one Thursday in December to encourage folks to shop local for the holiday season.

If getting to the gallery on the weekends is tough, this is a perfect place to come by–and bring friends! We’ve made about $1,300 for the Coalition so far. Last year we made $2,700. Help us beat that this year!
