Hello,
davis_square!
We are Kamela Dolinova (
dietrich) and Matt Ryan (
mattlistener), two contributors and members of both the virtual and actual Davis Square community. We started
boston_synergy to alert the community to events and session availability related to Rubenfeld Synergy Method, a dynamic body-mind healing technique that we are both studying.
Nearly a year ago, we each separately posted to LJ in search of practice clients to help us progress in our learning. Now, as we are preparing to certify as Level One practitioners, we are seeking new clients who are interested in experiencing this healing method, which combines talk and gentle touch to promote self-healing and a greater integration of body, mind, emotions and spirit.
(See Matt's previous post and Kamela's previous post for more information about them.)
What does a Rubenfeld Synergy Method session entail? In a typical session, you will lie face-up on a massage table, fully clothed. For about 45 minutes, the practitioner will make gentle contact with you at your head, feet, knees, hips and shoulders, and may engage you in gentle movement. During this, the practitioner will engage you in dialogue about what you're noticing in your body. Through this exploration, heightened body awareness, emotions, and stories from your life may emerge. As the work progresses, the client may be able to release old traumas, relieve pain, break unhealthy postural habits, or experience a heightened sense of well-being.
What are the criteria for being a client? In general, you may not be a friend of the practitioner or in any relationship to the practitioner aside from casual acquaintance. (If you know one of us but not the other, you may want to contact the other practitioner.) For the purposes of our current level of training, you must answer a few questions about your history with physical and mental care.
What does it cost? We are currently seeing clients at a reduced internship rate. Contact us for details.
How do I contact you? Comment on this message, email both of us at [email protected], or either of us directly at [email protected] or [email protected].
Thanks, and we look forward to hearing from you!
