The Aroma Cafe opened yesterday at 278 Highland Ave, just beyond Cedar Street, the former location of Cafe Rossini and Cafe Lola. When I stopped in, they were doing a good business from both locals and Somerville Open Studios visitors.
They served coffee today (unlike most places in Davis Square), and had supermarket-bought ice for my iced coffee. The new owner is a Greek woman named Olga, who was preparing the sandwiches today. The walls are now plain white, as they have removed all of Rossini/Lola's old décor.
No menu is posted yet; if you ask what meals they are selling, the cashier will read from a handwritten list. They have sandwiches, and will have Greek and American food, but not pizza (at least not yet).
They have no web site yet.
