I'm probably a paranoid weirdo, but I thought I would post and see if anyone else had had this happen recently. Someone rang our doorbell (1st floor of a 3 family on Highland Ave) 3 times last night at around 1:30. They paused very deliberately after each ring. We didn't make it to the door in time to see who it was, it being 1:30 am and all. They did not ring the doorbells for the 2nd or 3rd floor. We went back to sleep after checking the driveway/side entrance, but it still gives me the creeps. Has this happened to anyone else?

Sometimes our bell rings and nobody is there. We know because encampment see our whole porch while the bell is ringing. We think our bell must be on the same frequency as another bell on our block. Any chance the

That's for wireless doorbells, yes?

This has also happened to me a few apartments ago, but about 15 times a day. We finally were able to figure out that it was the neighbor's baby monitor being turned on/off.

What do you mean by "encampment see our whole porch" ?

Sigh. Freaking auto correct. Typing from phone. We can see our whole porch when the bell rings.

Worse, these wireless bells often are on the same frequencies as completely unrelated devices. Took me months to figure out that my doorbell was going off every time the guy across the street opened his garage...

What others are saying, if you have a wireless, it could be all sorts of interference. Ours used to go off with a neighbor's garage-door opener. We have a hardwired one now that works a lot better.

If yours is hardwired, and this keeps happening, you might want to have an electrician in.

It could possibly have just been someone visiting another house late-night who either got the address wrong or was drunk or whatever. I know if I had accidentally rung the doorbell a few times and then realized I had the wrong house, I would want to slink away in embarrassment.

Well, it can't be the Postman. He always rings twice.

Well, I have no answers to add to what's already been said, but I definitely don't think you're a lunatic. I would be freaked out by that too.

Wireless doorbells you can change the frequency by opening up both the doorbell button device and the bell itself and removing/adding one of the plastic thingies, or changing the order of them. Just make sure make the same changes to each that they match when you are done. I don't like wireless because batteries have to be changed once a year sometimes. But sometimes running doorbell wire is not an option.

Hopefully that was it and not a burglar.
