Fitchburg Cutoff is open for bike traffic

The portion of the Fitchburg Cutoff that was under construction, just west of Alewife, is open as of today for bike traffic. It's no longer necessary to detour onto Cambridgepark — hooray! The wetlands are still fenced off.

For those of you unfamiliar with the path, this map shows it.

The entrance to the path from CambridgePark Drive is now temporarily closed for continuing construction.

The entrance to the path from Cambridge Park Drive was open as of 6:30-ish PM today. Maybe it's one of those things they open and close according to construction needs?

Yep, I noticed this too after actually taking a ride around 5:30. The information in my comment above came from signs that were posted elsewhere on the path. I've edited the description on the map I linked to.
