Hello,
davis_square community. I'm one of your four friendly moderators, posting here to tell you that I had emergency retinal eye surgery (vitrectomy) last Thursday, which involved replacing my left eye's vitreous fluid with a gas bubble.
I have been largely offline every since. For the first four days after surgery, I had to face the ground at all times, whether standing, walking, sitting, or sleeping. This restriction has been lifted, but I still find it very fatiguing to use a computer or read anything for more than a few minutes at a time. So you should not expect to see me much on LJ, Facebook, or anywhere else on the Internet for the next few weeks.
I cannot lift anything heavier than 10 pounds, I not allowed to ride a bicycle or drive a car, and I probably should not walk any substantial distance or take public transit without assistance right now. So I'm feeling a bit socially isolated and would love to have visitors. If you'd like to visit, please call my landline at 617-628-8895, between 9 am and 10 pm, rather than sending e-mails or LJ or Facebook messages.
Some friends of mine have set up the website https://www.lotsahelpinghands.com/c/729457/ to try to coordinate help for me while I recover, such as grocery shopping and laundry.
