Hello, this is Meghann Ackerman from the City of Somerville with important snow-related information. A snow emergency has been declared effective starting at 7 p.m. on Sun., March 20. To avoid getting a ticket or being towed, vehicles must be moved to the odd-side of the street (unless otherwise posted), or to a city or school parking lot by 11 p.m. on Sunday. Because parking is not enforced on Sundays, you can begin parking in these lots immediately tonight, and may remain there until the emergency is over. If possible, please consider sharing driveways with neighbors to create additional parking spots for those without driveways.
Somerville Public Schools will be closed on Monday. Public libraries will be open and Recreation activities will go on as planned. Trash and recycling pickup will remain on a normal schedule.
For more information about Somerville’s snow policies, please visit http://www.somervillema.gov/snow. If you have a non-emergency question or service request, please call 311 (or 617-666-3311 from cellphones or from outside the city). In case of emergency dial 911.
