I noticed this beautiful mirror on the curb this morning. It has a tag that says made in Italy. About four feet tall. Would be a shame for it to be trashed!

Near the top of Clarendon Ave (20-30 Clarendon Ave) Somerville, on the left. See pic below. Read more... )

I have twice now encountered a stack of slightly damaged (broken hinges, holes/cracks in the bottom, but still stackable and closable) totes outside of Rite-Aid, on the sidewalk on Highland. Both times were on nights that aren't trash/recycling pickup nights. Does anyone know the provenance or fate of these totes?

Thanks to[livejournal.com profile] lyonesse and [livejournal.com profile] laryu for taking a ton of my slate, but there's still a bunch more, if anyone wants to take some (and by some I mean a carful or two - not an armful) it for a yard/garden project.

Failing that, does anyone know of a place that might just come by and fetch it? Even for a fee?

I also have a giant metal pole to get rid of, if anyone has had experience with a scrap metal hauler.

Thanks!

I've decided to embark on a small container garden using self-irrigating five-gallon bucket contraptions. Does anyone know of a business that uses those sorts of buckets and is willing to give them away to budget gardeners? I can just start wandering into stores and asking but thought maybe you guys could direct my search to make it more fruitful.

Thanks.

Hi all,

After 7 good years in Davis, I'm moving on to California. Seven years is enough time to accumulate stuff, and California is too far to take said stuff. Here are craigslist postings of items I am selling:

Biking home from seeing Inception at the Somerville Theater, we came across an old RCA radio/turntable cabinet out with the trash cans in front of 43 Paulina St. I have no idea if it works, but it would be a damn shame for this to go into the garbage truck.

We're in the market for a standard/double futon to replace the one on our futon sofa that our elderly cat ruined (sorry to say, he passed away recently, but the pee lingers on). Doesn't have to be anything spectacular, I just don't want to go the new purchase route since the remaining cat isn't too far behind in years. I can pay you a little for it. Just thought I'd ask here if anyone has one laying around that they don't want.
