On the front page of yesterday's Globe sports section: Kwan puts skating career on ice.

It's mostly about her being a graduate student at Tufts University's Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. I'm linking to it here because it

(a) has a big photo of her standing in front of the Somerville Theatre

(b) starts with: "She will be walking through Davis Square at lunchtime, having dinner in the North End, or sitting courtside at a Celtics game and she’ll see the heads turning."

(c) ends with a mention of her "dropp[ing] by the Diesel Café on Elm Street for a salad and a latte"

Michelle Kwan only comes in 3rd on the list of Davis Square celebrities.

1st and 2nd place is a tie between Ron Newman and Tom Champion.

I've never seen a Globe article with so few negative comments. She is clearly some sort of miracle worker.

Go Michelle!

Seriously @ the negative Globe comments. There seem to be some very, very angry trolls sitting on that site. I thought they hung out under the Longfellow Bridge...

My favorite was some guy who kept trying to pick fights in a story about Haiti. He kept going on about how liberals couldn't answer his (stupid) questions and had nothing to offer but insults. When I calmly answered his questions, he insulted me. Way to score points in a thread about the misery of millions, buddy.

Oh, and the armchair patriots who think that voting for Brown makes them just like their (supposed) ancestors who fought the British way back when. Talk about deluded fools....

The globe desperately needs some kind of moderation or ranking system on their comments. A lot of the readers seem to think they are a combination of limbaugh and howie carr. (Sidebar, I don't actually think Howie is that bad, he at least is articulate and funny)

"Someone dumped a filthy, stained futon on the sidewalk. Then, someone tagged it. Then, a dog shat on it. So, yes: comments were enabled."

I have a nearly unblemished track record.

The real question is if she has ever been in Diesel before meeting up with the Globe reporter.
