I'm getting a little overwhelmed by all the groupon-type posts here. It's great that folks are sharing money-saving tips for local businesses, but I think we might be reaching a saturation point.

What if we created a davis_coupons community, and asked people to post these deals there and not here?

Why not avoid them altogether. As Eclectic stated, if you want to get notified about the awesome groupon and buywithme coupons in the davis area, be proactive and go subscribe to the sites yourself. It'll take you less time to check an email than scan through a post.

Granted, I view this blog through Google Reader, so it takes me no time at all to ignore it. But honestly, you could just fend for yourselves and sign up with these sites if it's something you enjoy seeing. Leave this blog for people's free stuff, local news, information, cop stories, etc.
