Hiya. Just looking for a tailor/seamstress/whomever in Davis square who can replace a busted zipper on a pair of slacks. Had a wardrobe malfunction thanks to an angry dryer, and I'd like to get my favorite pair of slack resurrected, if at all possible. Any recommend places? Experiences? Thanks.

I don't know if Eleni does this, but you may as well ask her.

Eleni has repaired a busted zipper for me, so I'd recommend it. Cost me $12 IIRC.

she's on Elm Street near Diesel and Jimmy Tingle's.

I recommend Chris Fine Tailor in Teele Square. He's on Broadway a couple of storefronts down from the Soleil Cafe. I've had many things done there and always very good quality.

Hi there -- have you had anything formal done there, like a fancy schmancy dress? If so, how was his work? And if you don't mind my asking, about how much does he charge?

I've had zippers replaced at the... um, crap, I forget the name. It's on College Ave about a half-block up from the square, before the late-nite restaurant and after Deli-licious.

Basically any dry-cleaner anywhere can do that for you, though. (Also, check archives, there's a zillion of these posts).
