I made a mistake in challah baking last night - ran out of canola oil, and used soybean oil. Neither my son nor my husband approve of this.
If you want two loaves of slightly odd-flavored (due to the soybean oil) challah made with duck eggs, let me know... I can deliver before 4PM...

Date: 2011-06-10 05:18 pm (UTC)I use the method from the Jewish cookbook I have - it has instructions for everything from three-strand to ten-strand! I think the one in the icon is *probably* a six-strand. (Also, tiny.)
There's an amazing YouTube video on six-strand challah braiding - way better than following a diagram.
